Working with Links
Creating an internal link:
- Select the text you would like to make a link
- Click the browse file icon next to the link text box in the Properties Panel
- The Browse for file dialog box will open
- Click on the options button (mac)
- Verify that the link is set to "relative to document"
- Select the file you would like to link to
- Save your changes
Creating an external link:
- Select the text you would like to make a link
- Enter the URL of the link into the Link Text Box in the Properties Panel
- Select ‘_blank’ from the target drop down.
- This will open the link in a new tab./window when clicked
Create an email Link:
- Select the text you would like to make a link
- Click the email link in the HTML Category on the Insert Panel
- Type the name of the email link in the text field and the email address in the email field and click ok
- Save your changes
Working with Images
Insert an Image:
- Switch to Live View
- Place your cursor where you would like to add your image
- Click Image from the HTML Category on the Insert Panel
- Use the Position Assist dialog box to select where you would like the image to be placed. (Before, After or Nest)
- The browse for file dialog box will open
- Navigate to your image and select it
- Remember to always add alternate text to your images!
Add/Edit Alternate Text for an Image:
- Select image and locate the "Alt Text" text box in the Properties Panel
- Enter the "Alt Text" (be descriptive)
- Save your work
Using an Image to Create an Internal Link:
- Click on the image that you would like to make a link
- Click the browse file icon next to the link text box in the Properties Panel
- The Browse for file dialog box will open
- Click on the options button (mac)
- Verify that the link is set to "relative to document"
- Select the file you would like to link to
Using an Image to Create an External Link:
- Click on the image that you would like to make a link
- Locate the Link text box in the Properties Panel
- Enter the URL of the link into the Link Text Box
- Select ‘_blank’ from the target drop down.
